Firearms Shipping
FFL Transfer Requirement
Federal law requires all firearms to be shipped to a licensed Federal Firearms License (FFL) dealer. We cannot ship firearms directly to your home or business.
Shipping Process:
- Place Your Order - Complete checkout with your selected FFL dealer information
- FFL Verification - We verify your dealer's current FFL license
- Secure Packaging - Firearm is professionally packaged in unmarked, discrete packaging
- Shipment - Ships via UPS or FedEx with tracking and insurance
- FFL Receipt - Your FFL dealer receives the firearm and contacts you
- Pickup - Complete ATF Form 4473 and background check at FFL, then take your firearm home

- Shipped via UPS or FedEx Ground
- All shipments include tracking and full insurance
- Adult signature required at FFL location
- Expedited shipping available upon request
Ammunition Shipping
Direct to Home Delivery
Ammunition can be shipped directly to your home address in most states. Some states require additional documentation.
Ammunition Shipping Details:
- Carriers: UPS Ground or FedEx Ground (USPS does not ship ammunition)
- Adult Signature: May be required by carrier based on destination
- Hazmat Fees: Hazmat fee required per order (federal requirement)
- Shipping Costs: Calculated at checkout based on weight and destination
State Restrictions:
Some states have additional requirements for ammunition purchases:
- California: Must provide valid CA driver's license or ID
- Illinois: FOID card required
- Massachusetts: Firearms license required
- New York: Background check required for ammunition
- New Jersey: Firearms purchaser ID or permit required
- Connecticut: Ammunition eligibility certificate or pistol permit required

Standard Shipping
Firearms accessories, parts, optics, and gear ship directly to your address via USPS, UPS, or FedEx.
Processing & Tracking
Order Processing
Orders are processed promptly upon receipt. Firearms require FFL verification before shipment. Orders placed on weekends or holidays will be processed the next business day.
Tracking Information
You will receive tracking information via email as soon as your order ships. Track your order status in real-time.
Shipping Restrictions
We Cannot Ship To:
- P.O. Boxes (firearms only - accessories OK)
- APO/FPO/DPO addresses (firearms only)
- Alaska & Hawaii (some restrictions apply)
- U.S. Territories (Puerto Rico, Guam, USVI)
- International addresses (U.S. only)
State-Specific Restrictions:
Some firearms, magazines, and accessories are restricted in certain states. We will cancel and refund orders for restricted items. Check your state laws before ordering.
- California: Handgun roster compliance, assault weapon restrictions, 10-round magazine limit
- New York: SAFE Act compliance, no standard capacity magazines
- New Jersey: Strict assault weapon and magazine restrictions
- Massachusetts: Assault weapon ban, magazine capacity limits
- Connecticut: Assault weapon restrictions, magazine limits
Returns & Exchanges
Return Policy
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If you need to return an item, please contact us for return authorization.
Firearms Returns
- Must be reported immediately if defective or incorrect
- Firearm must be unfired and in original packaging
- Contact us for return authorization before shipping
- Must ship from FFL to FFL (we cover shipping for defects/errors)
- Restocking fees may apply
Ammunition & Accessories Returns
- Must be unused in original packaging
- Contact us for return authorization
- Customer pays return shipping unless defective
- Hazmat fees are non-refundable
Refused or Unclaimed Shipments
If a firearm shipment is refused at the FFL or not picked up in a timely manner:
- The firearm will be returned to us
- You will be charged return shipping costs
- Restocking fees will apply
- Refund issued minus shipping and restocking fees
Damaged or Lost Shipments
Damaged Items
- Inspect package upon delivery
- Note any damage on carrier receipt
- Contact us immediately at support@thegundock.com
- Take photos of damaged packaging and item
- We will file insurance claim and ship replacement
Lost Shipments
- All firearms are shipped with full insurance
- Contact us if shipment is delayed beyond expected delivery
- We will trace package with carrier
- If lost, we will file claim and ship replacement or refund
International Shipping
We do not ship firearms, ammunition, or most firearms-related items internationally due to federal export regulations. U.S. addresses only.
