The Gold Medal Grand load was designed to create less recoil, while allowing for more reliable ignition. This process has improved shot hardness and excellent reload ability-all with the same world-class performance shooters expect. The basic design of the Gold Medal Grand Xtra-Lite shotshell is a two-piece wad which employs the SoftCell technology to lower the perceived recoil and create more of a uniform pattern than one-piece designs. The Rigid PrimerLock head progresses the primer sensitivity, guaranteeing the proper ignition in the event of a light hit. This lead shot is engineered for the optimum blend of hardness and density for even patterns and maximum downrange power.
